This tool enables you to perform a structural check on MAFI brackets - up to the interface with the parent structure. The work you have to do is as follows:
Choose the bracket
Enter some basic information to calculate the wind load
Enter the sizes and weights of the equipment to be supported on the offset (or offsets)
Choose the sizes of the parent pole and offset pole if applicable
The tool then calculates the torque at the offset pole (if there is one), the torque at the parent member and the total weight of the equipment including the offset pole. These values are compared with the allowable values that you can find on the MAFI datasheets for each product.MAFI brackets have been calculated for all possible loadcases using finite element analysis and then physically tested. There is no need for you to calculate stresses in the bracket because we have done it for you! Note that from 2016, MAFI brackets have been tested and certified to satisfy Arqiva specification BOS096 and particularly the accidental load case represented by a transient 6kN fall-arrest load.
